Geoff Chappell

Geoff Chappell

Technician

What can I say about Geoff? I’ve known Geoff like much of the staff at RCW for many years. We met at a local Volvo dealer we worked at in 1992. Geoff worked as a master mechanic and of course I worked in the collision center. Soon after we met I bought a 1964 Volvo P1800S, I thought it would make a good vintage racer. I was in the process of building my vintage racecar, and Geoff offered to help. We worked together many an evening preparing the car. We ran the car for 5 seasons, doing very well, finishing in the top three positions often and first a few times. We became the best of friends that’s lasted all these years.

I remember Geoff while working for Volvo entered a worldwide Volvo competition. It was a skills test a ton of technical questions. Geoff was one of two technicians from North America winning an all-expenses paid trip to the Volvo factory and test track in Gothenburg Sweden. This is an example of how smart the guy is, Volvo like all manufactures has a tech line. The tech line is used when a Technician cannot figure out how to fix a problem vehicle.  On occasion Tech would call Geoff to get his opinion when they didn’t have the answer.  About 4 years ago Geoff left Volvo to come and assist RCW to be a more rounded business. We lean on him for any mechanical challenges that come along. Geoff also assists with disassembly and assembling vehicles. We are a better company because of him. Geoff has 40 plus years of automotive experience.

Luke Sabey

Luke Sabey

Technician

Luke is our youngest auto body technician, but don’t let youth fool you. He has already graduated from an auto body trade school and while attending, competed in multiple skills competitions. In fact he won the National Skills USA contest in 2015 for Auto Collision Repair Technology.

Luke is continuing his education with a goal of achieving every I-CAR certification available for body techs. He also looks forward to completing all of his ASEs.

Luke brings not only skills and knowledge to the shop, but enthusiasm and a strong work ethic. We are very glad to have him on our team.

Eric Lovett

Eric Lovett

Technician

Eric is one our newest additions to our team at Rallye. I’ve known Eric since 1990. Eric and Dell are brothers that work together as a team like a fine tuned machine. Have you ever thought to yourself, if there were only two of me. Well this duo is as close as it gets.

Eric and I worked together for about two years at a local dealership where he was a trainee. After their training it was time for him and his brother both to move on, working on the line as A technicians in the Denver metro area for a variety of shops many of them the big box store consolidator collision repair centers. Over the years Eric has fine tuned his skills. I think they both brothers felt as if they were just a number, not really feeling as though being part of anything. I know that’s how I felt when I worked in that type of environment. I think what one takes away from that kind of experience is you have the opportunity to work with a lot of technicians building up a library of valuable techniques.

We have all kept in touch over the years. For a number of years I have been waiting for the right time to add them to our family. I am so pleased that we have grown enough at Rallye to make that possible. My hope is now they feel as though they are part of something, being appreciated for who they are and what services they provide to the community.

Eric is completely I-Car certified in all aspects of structural and non structural repairs. With the training and relationships we built in the early part of our careers we have an understanding as to how the job should be done, with quality, service and our customers being our number one.

I-Car certified.

Rich Groneman

Rich Groneman

Painter

Like me Richard was exposed to the auto body trade at an early age. Richard’s father like mine had an auto body shop. I’ve also known Richard for many years. We met around 1995 while working at a local Volvo, VW, Audi, Mazda dealership. Richard was in the paint department and I was in the body department. While we worked together I noticed Richard paid close attention to detail. He wasn’t necessarily concerned about how fast he could get the job done but how well it could be done. When it came time for me to commit to starting my own business I knew Richard would be the first piece of the Rallye Coach Works puzzle. Richard has been there since the beginning. Richard is a trusting dedicated member of the RCW family. Richard brings 35 plus years of painting experience.

William Peter Cooper

William Peter Cooper

Painter

Pete is fairly new to our family starting October of 2015. After me Pete is the first one in every morning. Pete has brought to RCW much needed relief in our paint department. Pete has nearly completed all of his I Car training in paint and has just completed his PPG paint certification. Pete also is a dedicated car enthusiast.

Pete works well with the team and brings a positive enthusiastic attitude to RCW.  We are looking forward to a long time relationship.

Pete attended a formal Auto Body school.

Fred Martins

Fred Martins

Parts Manager

We share the same name. Fred is our parts coordinator and general do whatever else needs to be done, and he’s my brother. I’ve known Fred his whole life being he’s younger than I am. Fred joined RCW back in December of 2015. We were in desperate need of expanding our office staff. Fred left a job of 20 plus years. Fred organized coordinated and scheduled staff for large events. He brings detail to paying attention, along with ordering most all of our parts. Fred has filled a gap to RCW’s growing family. I’m glad he’s here and I know he’s got my back.

Coordinator and general doer.

Jonathan Lane

Jonathan Lane

Office Manager

Jonathan is the guy up front, one might say the face of the company. Jonathan answers most of the calls, schedules the work and negotiates the repairs with insurance companies for our customer’s on their behalf. He fights tooth and nail to make sure no corners are cut so we can deliver our customers cars back to pre-collision condition. Jonathan and I met in 1988 and have been the best of friendsever since. We share a lot of the same interests both of us are members of MG Car Club of Colorado and Rocky Mountain Vintage Racing. Jonathan owns a MGBGT street car he’s had since high school, he also has a 1960 Austin Healey 3000 and a 1965 MGB vintage race car he campaigns and does very well.  One could say he’s passionate about racing and British cars. Jonathan left a job as sales rep for a high end European bicycle manufacturer. Jonathan brings a positive attitude to help RCW build a better business with customer relations-service and office duties. It’s safe to say RCW is a better place because of him.

I know one might say having friends and family working for you is not the best business plan. At time it does test your relationships. But knowing and trusting the people in your company sure makes up for it. RCW is truly a family because of these longtime relationships.
